Richard Nichols passed away November 3, 2026, in Portage, MI at 76 years of age. He was born on December 31, 1949, in Coloma MI. He attended Portage Schools. In 1969 he joined the US Navy where he served on the USS Albany class (CG) Missile Cruiser during the Vietnam War. Richard had many talents and gifts which he shared with others. He was a hard worker who was employed for many years at the Park Club of Kalamazoo, also as a janitor at Lakeside Academy. He lived several years in Louisiana before moving back to Michigan. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Bert and Luella (Cowgill) Nichols of Kalamazoo; brother, Thomas S Nichols, of Jackson MI; nephew, James R Ferris of Florida; great-niece, Michelle C Ferris of Florida.
