Bob was born in Chicago, IL, on October 28, 1940, the son of John and Laura (Gardner) Nocis Sr. On April 26, 1980, he married Deborah McMeekan who survives him. They married after knowing each other only two weeks. During their 46-year marriage, it is difficult for Deborah to remember any arguments they may have had. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a tidy guy and kept a very clean garage where he kept his Harley. He was a kind and loving man. Bob enjoyed western movies. He found nothing more entertaining than a good old cowboy and Indians movie. Last October he had a medical emergency which necessitated a helicopter ride to Grand Rapids which he really enjoyed. Besides his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Robert A. (Lynn) Nocis Jr., Angel (Joshua Slater) Nocis, grandchildren, Brendan (Jessa) Nocis, Connor (Pressly) Nocis, Melyssa (Ethan) Nocis, Joshua (Sophia) Nocis, Roanne Nocis and Princess Nocis; great grandchildren, Juliette Nocis, Oliver Scott Nocis; his mother and father in law, Roger Duane and Leona Jean McMeekan; siblings, Diane Carpenter, Janet Kisinger, and Alice TerMeer; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins; and countless friends including his four legged companion, Boo.
