In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at States Golf Course at 20 W. Ave E, Vicksburg, MI 49097, on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Obituary
Robert Anthony Peters, age 81, passed away at his home on August 22, 2026. He was born in Kalamazoo on September 16, 1944, the son of the late George and Jacoba (VanLoo) Peters. He grew up in Kalamazoo and after graduating high school enlisted in the Navy. He served our country with honor and after being discharged returned to make Southwest Michigan his home. He began working for the Upjohn Company and retired in 2000 after several years of dedicated service. When not working, he pursued his passion for golf. He was a regular member at States Golf Course where he played in leagues and made many friends. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW. Along with his long-time companion, Carol Kelly, he enjoyed spending Winter months in Englewood, FL. Robert also enjoyed driving his Corvette’s and spending time with his pet dogs. To know Robert was to love him and his smile, laughter and fellowship will be missed. Robert never had any children of his own, but his family circle extended to many people he would meet throughout his life.
He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Bob.

I’m sorry to see this. I knew Bob from Upjohn. Bob was a good friend to many. Had some good times golfing, riding in his brown corvette. He was a generous fun loving person that treated me well. Lots of memories, all good.
Every person that met Bob loved him. I loved making him sing with me and making him laugh! Gonna be missed by so many and thought of everyday. RIP old friend. Denny

Sounds like a great guy. I see now where his sister Donna, the only living survivor in the Peter’s family, got her nose from. It is sad that at such an advanced age he built a wall between he and his youngest sister. Sisters Barbara and Char preceded him in death.
My sympathies go out to Bob’s only sister Donna, who never forgot he was her big brother…
What a great funny guy. Spent time with Bob in Florida at the bar and the beach he wore his sunglasses so he could watch the lady.
Bob was a great friend, always gave me good advice..we were neighbors 79to89 and remained good friends…sure going too miss him..I still have the best been bag chair he ever made..
Loved his chuckle and sense of humor. A great guy.
Spent many a night golfing with Bob and then driving to the casino and returning early the next day. Many adventures with a man I learned a great deal from. Bob was like a second father to me. He will be missed. Bob I hope you are parlaying that hard eight on the craps table in heaven.
