Obituary
Age 69, passed away August 5, 2024. Ron was born in Kalamazoo on October 5, 1954, the son of Gene Nelson Douglass and Phyllis Elaine Balch (Esman). Ron loved his trucks and motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time at his trailer in Baldwin. His long-time home was on Long Lake in Portage, a place that was dear to him. Ron is survived by his sister, Arlene (Leonard Olson) Douglass of Shelbyville; nieces and nephews, Antoinette Edwards of Martin, Cheryl Hunter of Martin, Troy Cannon of Kalamazoo, Danielle Koscik of White Pigeon; several great nieces and nephews; aunts, Bonnie Frye of Kalamazoo and Barbara Shand of Wisconsin; and many friends, especially his long-time friend, Donnie Akers. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Constance Koscik.
Ron was a good friend of mine, he was funny and nice, we had fun together at the VFW. RIP, my friend until we meet again.
Sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. Ron was a classmate at PCHS. RIP Ron.

I am so sorry, I have known him since he was born and just lived a few houses from him. My sons were friends for many years. He will be missed at the lake and at the VFW 5855 where he was a poplar guest. May GOD give the family peace and comfort.
