Sally Jo Bennett

In accordance with her wish, cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Churchill Downs. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or SPCA of Southwest Michigan.
Obituary
Age 76, exchanged her earthly body for her heavenly home on November 30, 2019. Sally was born in Kalamazoo on July 9, 1943, to the late Marcus and Anna (Reer) Lage. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1961 and worked in various dental offices throughout her life, the most recent being for Dr. Phillip T. Doyle, DDS, for the last 22 years. Sally is survived by her son, Denny Bennett of Mattawan; daughter, Debbie (Michael) Netzlof of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jami (Justin) Demharter and James (Monica) Aretz; and sister, Sandra Den Hartigh. Her heritage on this earth will continue with her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Hunter, Paislee, Avery Jo, Zoey Anne and Ava. Sally had a great love for animals, especially horses, and is also survived by her beloved dog, Mac and cat, Imus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother in-law, Paul Den Hartigh. Sally was a model of grace, fortitude, hard work, dignity and mercy to all who crossed her path.
Oh, Sally….met you 36 years ago and have loved you and your family ever since. You have a big heart and always did your best. What a beautiful legacy you have left. Love you guys. Patsy and Jerry

Sally will be greatly missed. She was always pleasant whether you saw her at the dentist office, store or on the street. She would say hi and ask how you were doing. I will miss seeing her and talking to her.
