Obituary

Age 80 passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI, with family at her side. Sandra was born on October 6, 1938 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of the late Marno and Francile (Huff) Thoms. She was kind, loving and a joy to know. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sibling. She had a servant’s heart and spent much of her time volunteering at the local hospital. She was an avid reader and was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church. She worked hard to provide a happy home for her family, and she leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. On May 2, 1959, she married Edmund R. Nagel who preceded her in passing in 2017. She is survived by two children, David Nagel and Cynthia (Ray Thomas) Nagel; two grandchildren, Madison and Colter Nagel; a sister, Patricia Muhal; nieces, nephews and friends.

Our condolences to the family of Sandra Nagel. I am a cousin of Sandra and the late Edmund and after moving from Saginaw to Florida had lost contact with them. Had heard of her passing from other relatives in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a lovely lady and we had some great times with them in the years before we moved. Sincerely, Michael and Colette Nagel and Olga Nagel

Simple words cannot adequately express the loving, caring, & compassionate individual Sandy has been. We both have been extremely close friends with both Sandy and Ed for almost our entire lives, which go back to before we were all married and raised our children. We were closer than if we all had been brothers and sisters. We will miss them both, however we are left with many wonderful memories which we will cherish forever. We will surely miss you here on earth. We will see you again in heaven. We pray, God please watch over Sandy in heaven. May God bless.
