Sharon Kay Tolis, age 82, passed away at her home on September 26, 2026, with loved ones at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo, on September 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Allen and Virginia (Dunning) Cochran. She grew up in Kalamazoo, graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, Class of 1962. She would remain a lifelong resident of the area where she made many friends and lifelong memories. On January 15, 1966, she married the love of her life Ojars Tolis who preceded her in passing in 2024. Sharon worked hard as an employee of Liberty Mutual Insurance for nearly twenty-five years. Sharon had an eye for a bargain and hidden treasures. She loved spending weekends going thrift shopping, to antique stores and any garage sale she might find. She enjoyed cooking and her table was always open to a friend or relative. She had a kind spot in her heart for animals and loved many pet dogs throughout her life. Above all Sharon loved her family. She was a dedicated mother and was especially close to her grandson in whom she took great pride. Sharon’s smile, laughter, and love will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her only daughter, Annette Tolis; grandson, Camaron Barthel; extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a brother, Paul H. Cochran.
