Obituary
Age 79, passed away on September 1, 2021. Sharon was born in Allegan, MI, on May 18, 1942, the daughter of Joel Franklin and Mavia (Hawes) Dunkelberger. Sharon worked for many years as a Social Worker for Kalamazoo County. She was an avid bowler and loved going to the Barn Theatre. Sharon is survived by her son, Gene Tanney of Portage; grand-daughter, Jessica (Jon Brummel) Comstock of Otsego; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Riley, and Regan Comstock, and one on the way; brother, Arlo Dunkelberger; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lyle Dunkelberger, Harold Dunkelberger, Richard Dunkelberger, and Paul Dunkelberger.
I just came across this posting of the loss of Sharon. Such a nice person, I worked with Sharon at the State many years and she was always one of my favorite people. I often ran into her at Meijers after retiring and enjoyed our quick catchups. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
