Obituary
Passed away October 11, 2024 at Bronson Hospital. Sheila was born at Borgess Hospital on February 25, 1968, the daughter of Neil D. & Ruth J (Abbott) Locey. Sheila was never married but enjoyed growing up and living in Kalamazoo with her friends and family. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1986. Sheila was a big part of her family pool business and ran the store in Battle Creek which she loved very much. Sheila enjoyed playing soccer and competition. She also loved her dog Tuka and Jessica her cat.
Sheila had a huge heart and took care and thought of others before herself.
Sheila had 3 brothers and one sister: She was preceded in death by Paul 2023, John in 1976 and Richard in 1982. Surviving is her sister: Kathy Strobel of Sarasota, nephew, Jeremy Bloomquist; Uncle Joe (Luanne) Locey and nieces Michelle and Nicole. Also, Bill Steelman life partner for the past 10 years.
We’ve known each other for many years and had lots of fun together! Great trips to Florida, California and Nevada. I’ll miss you friend/sister and I’ll see you in Heaven! RIP! Love ya, Squeakers! Sue (AKA: BOO)
Memories of Sheila are interwoven with my own early years. She was a generous soul who was giving & loving & quick to help. A proud aunt, I recall the times she would show off Jeremy & Christina to everyone in the neighborhood 😊 it’s hard to believe that unique sparkle in her eye has been dimmed so young. Flooded with memories of her, all of them good. Rest in peace Sheila
Thinking of Sheila on her 57th birthday, & her knack for cultivating African violets, the flower for February. 💜every memory of her is a good one, she was a generous soul with a big heart. Missed on this day
