A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Haven Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Memorial contributions may be made to the American SIDS Institute or West Michigan Cancer Center.
Obituary
Age 81, passed away at home on Monday, November 18, 2019. Shirley was born in Comstock, Michigan on May 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Ray and Dorothy (Harvey) Walters. She attended Kalamazoo Central High School and was employed by Sheldon Cleaners for 25 years. Shirley enjoyed baseball and was a loyal Detroit Tigers fan. She was also an avid bowler. She loved life and always put her family first. On September 8, 1956, Shirley was united in marriage to Wayne Pressley, who survives. She is also survived by six sons, Michael (Julie), Ricky, Timothy (Gayle), Todd (Kathie), David and Bradley (Judy) Pressley; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; half-sister, Betty Kuntz and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather Pressley; brothers, Arthur, Virgil and Donald Walters; sister, Hattie Stenberg and half-brother, Clarence Sparrow.
Will miss my mom a ton but will enjoy seeing her through all of her grand and great grandkids as they grow up.
So sorry for your loss. Shirley was such a fun person. Her laughter was infectious. She will be missed.
I spent many years sharing Shirley’s love of bowling with her. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. My prayers to the family. May God be with you in this time of grief.
