Steven James Lilly

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Radiant Life Church, 907 N. Nottawa, Sturgis. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. Steven will be laid to rest at Fry Dutch Settlement School Cemetery in Bronson. Memorial contributions may be made to Ivanhoe House, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 67 of Sturgis passed away Friday afternoon, October 17, 2025. Steven was born in Coldwater on August 25, 1958, the son of Calvin A. and Isabelle Irene (Bellman) Lilly. Steven enjoyed movies, coloring, bowling, fishing, and bicycling. He loved Jesus and looked forward to going to church and concerts. He loved Gospel music, especially Elvis’ “I’ve Got a Mansion.” He had participated in the Special Olympics. Steve enjoyed Pontoon boat rides on Klinger Lake. His quick and keen sense of humor led one of his former caretakers to call some of his funny comments “Stevie-isms.” He loved animals too, especially cats, dogs and horses. Steve always did the best with the gifts that God had given him. He had a simple faith and is at peace now with Jesus. Steve is survived by his siblings, Sharon (Stan) Runyon, Rosemary (Javier) Lopez, Jeannie (Wayne Ducharme) Gerchow, Elaine Edwards; step-mother, Debra Lilly and her children, Keri and Kevin Lilly; nine nieces and nephews; twenty-two great nieces and nephews; six great-great nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, James Gerchow.
Stevie was a remarkably amazing fella who never met a stranger. Always full of life and eager to share his take on any situation. He was so very loved by his friends, housemates, and family who he shared his life with! He will be greatly missed! Whenever I hear Kenny Roger’s for the rest of my days I will remember our covid time van rides singing along to every song together in perfect tune!
