There will be a visitation at Joldersma and Klein Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at New Day Community Church, 3600 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shalom Health Alternative Living Opportunities of Michigan (memo: “The Homestead” in Memory of Susan Brower) c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior with her family at her bedside on December 31, 2018. She was born on July 22, 1947, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Auris V. Bair and Olive (Thomas) Bair. On August 7, 1971, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Brower. They were blessed with two daughters, Amy and Sarah. Her passion was to serve her Lord Jesus Christ in everything she did. She was a loving and faithful woman who was adored by all who crossed her path. She loved spending time with her family and siblings and was very close to her many friends. All who knew her were inspired by her unwavering faith and gentle spirit. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan University. She worked for many years as a librarian assistant at the Kalamazoo Public Library. She is survived by her husband Robert, daughters Amy (David) Boersma and Sarah (Seth) Gerber, her grandchildren Andrew Boersma, Nathan Boersma, Grace Boersma, Olivia Boersma, her brothers Thomas Bair, Jack (Sheila) Bair, Richard (Bonnie) Bair and her sister Anne Bair.

Love to wonderful Sue and her wonderful family. There is only one you, Sue, and I’m glad I got to know you.
I got acquainted with Sue when we worked at the Library. She was a kind and sweet person. She had a love of birds and a funny story about birds is we were taking our morning break and low and behold a pigeon poop on her. I will miss her.
Sending prayers to Bob and the rest of your family. Sue was a very sweet person. This photo captures her gentle smile perfectly. I have fond memories of walks together downtown, when she worked at Kalamazoo Public Library, and later of birdwatching at the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
My condolences to Susan’s family. Susan and I worked together in the KPL Reference Room for several years. She was a wonderful co-worker and friend to all. May she rest in peace with her Lord.
