In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center or the Battle Creek Humane Society c/o the funeral home.

Obituary

Age 64, passed away at her home on November 18, 2023, with her loving dogs “Bo and Duke” at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on July 7, 1959, the daughter of the late James T. and Lynn M. (Crowner) Roe. She was also preceded in passing by a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy (Lori) Roe. Suzanne was kind, passionate and loving. She was a graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School and would remain in Galesburg where she made many friends throughout her life. She worked hard to provide for those she loved; her heart and home were always open to family and friends. When not working she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events; spending time at the family farm, horses and travelling the open road with her husband on their Harley Davidson. She was a master at crochet and her works were enjoyed by several people. She was a member of the NRA and was a gifted rifleman. Above all Suzanne loved her family and her friends and she leaves behind many memories to cherish. On September 16, 1989, she married the love of her life James “Jamie” Garrett Sr. who survives. She is also survived by five children, Timothy J. “T.J.” Franz, James Timothy “Tim” Garrett Jr., Alisha C. (David) McKay, Jennifer L. Garrett and James T. (Christy Bird) Franz; grandchildren, Carsyn, Leah, Frankie, James T. “Bubba”, Aiden, Ethan, Rory , Oakley, Nathan; siblings, Sandra (Steve) Champion; uncle, Marton G.I. Crowner; aunts, Viola Pathic, Janet Ford; nieces and nephews, Marceline, Philip, James (Lacie), Jeremiah (Renee); great-nieces and nephews, Paige, Jonathon, Carter, Jaydan, Brookelynn and Abby; many extended relatives and friends.

Friendly, quiet, caring, loving and giving only describe a few of your traits. I am grateful to have known you since we were small children and to have been your classmate and neighbor. All hearts are broken and sad, you will be remembered forever.
