Obituary

It is with the heaviest hearts that the family announce the passing of Timothy ‘Tim’ Todd Snape. He departed naturally at home on August 22, 2026, at the age of 67, with his son by his side. Tim was born on June 24, 1959. His birthday always came near Father’s Day and there was no day more fitting for who he was at his core. He could be categorized in so many ways but most admirably he could be described as steadfast; most evident in his devotion to his wife, Margie, whom he wed in August of 1988. They built a life and family together and it was Tim who cared for her during a long illness that resulted in her passing in 2009. He took on single parenthood of their sons with a strength that most couldn’t have weathered. It was in his son’s that he took his greatest pride. Tim was also an exceptional and dedicated stepfather, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle.

His dedication to his family was what continued to fuel his hardworking nature. The last stop in his career was a long-time position working as an IT specialist for the City of Kalamazoo. He did not have the chance to retire but it was something he had begun to think about, and it would have been much deserved.

He was not a prideful man. He did not want or ask for much, but he would accept a carrot cake or a peanut butter pie from Yogi’s in Vicksburg. A quiet man, he enjoyed activities that could be done independently. He had a passion for Detroit sports, most notably the Detroit Tigers. His TV could usually be found playing a baseball game, a football game, a NASCAR race, the Food Network, or The Big Bang Theory. He had an appreciation for birds, keeping the local bird’s content with his feeders, which in return, kept him happy as he could watch them from his large front window. He was a long-time music lover, with tastes across many genres, but in particular he loved Grand Funk Railroad and Todd Rundgren. Many kids and grandkids were fascinated with his drum-set and guitar in the basement.

Tim was many things. Intelligent, kind, generous, thoughtful, loyal, forgiving, and funny. He gave big hugs and hated having his picture taken. He was quiet but comforting. He was most aptly described as ‘one of the good ones.’

His family is finding peace in knowing that after many years apart, he has made his way back to his beloved wife and their dog, “Cooper” and they have a chance to be together again. Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Snape; parents, Donald and Helen Snape; and his grandson, Michael Little Jr.

He is survived by his sons, Trevor Snape and Kyle (Kim) Snape; step-children, Chris Lisk, Matt (Mary) Lisk, Charity (Mike) Little; grandchildren, Amber Little, Joe Lisk, Alexis (David) McKeown, Brady Little, Joshua Little, Parker Nowaczyk, Shane Lisk, Hannah Nowaczyk, and Lennon Lisk; great-grandchildren, Grayson Lisk, Elias and Atlas McKeown, Eleanor Little; siblings, Bill (Tammy) Snape and Cindy (Don) Mackley.
