A Celebration of Walter’s Life will be held at a later date and time. Walter and Alice will be laid to rest together at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park South. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 84, passed away Saturday evening, October 15, 2022. Walter was born in Kalamazoo on July 8, 1938, the son of Clyde and Julia (Tiefentof) Ritchie. On March 31, 1967, he married Alice Susan Brown who preceded him in death in 2018. Walter was an employee of the City of Kalamazoo for 47 years. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Walter is survived by his children, Larry (Virgie) Larsson, Robert (Angela) Ritchie, Pamela (Dave) Becklehimer, Michael (Nicole) Turner, Debbie (Ed) Fitzgerald and Ron (Nolene) Ritchie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Patterson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; and ten siblings.
I am sad you are gone, glad you are finally at peace. Say hi to mom. Glad we shared the time together that we had. Bentley and Mercedes will miss there Sunday visits as much as we will. Love you dad.
