Wayne Raymond Nye, Jr. age 63 of Kalamazoo passed away Saturday morning, July 11, 2026. Wayne was born in Kalamazoo on March 5, 1959, the son of Wayne Raymond and Rosalie (Heighton) Nye, Sr. Wayne worked for many years as a groundskeeper at Milham Park Golf Course, Red Arrow Golf Course and Eastern Hills Golf Course. Naturally, he had a love for playing golf as well. He was a huge music enthusiast and especially enjoyed 70’s classic rock. He also enjoyed model railroading and had trains in many different scales. Wayne is survived by his brother, Johnny Nye; niece, Angel (Andrew) Patton; and many friends including his long-time companion, Christine Kocher. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tammy Nye.
