Age 68 of Kalamazoo passed away Monday afternoon, November 4, 2024. Tom was born in Evansville, IN, on February 2, 1956, the son of William Thomas and Barbara Jean (Blood) Fischer. On August 7, 1982, he married Mary Mahoney who survives him. Tom was an avid sportsman. He loved downhill skiing and served on the ski patrol. He also loved fishing, sailing, camping, hunting, biking, backpacking, basically anything outdoors. At home he was a grill master and candy maker. More than anything he was a loving father and friend to his daughters. He will be remembered for his hardy and infectious laugh. Besides his wife, he is survived by his twin daughters, Courtney Fischer of Kalamazoo, and Caitlin (Ron Cooper) Fischer of Mattawan; his four-legged friend, Sawyer; sisters, Gail McDaniel, Jane White; brother-in-law, Chip (Dawn) Mahoney, Stephen (Kim) Doherty; nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
