Age 63, passed away peacefully at Centrica Rose Arbor Place on July 15, 2023. Andrew was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 5, 1959. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1978 and went on to join the United States Navy. Andrew served his country honorably from 1978 to 1981. He was stationed aboard the USS Midway and worked as a hydraulic mechanic. Andrew was a skilled tradesman, especially talented at carpentry and electrical and mechanical work. He loved listening to Jazz and R&B old school music. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, James Hicks and Catherine Morris; his sister, Mary Hawkins; grandparents, James and Henrietta Wright; step-sister, Antia Marie Hicks of Hazel Crest, IL who just recently followed him in death on Friday, July 21, 2023 and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his siblings, Barbara White of Chicago, IL, Carl Wright of Terre Haute, IN, Dilva Morris of Indianapolis, IN and Kim Morris of Terre Haute, IN. Andrew also leaves to mourn him his step-mother, Carlene Hicks of Chicago, IL; two step-brothers, Douglas Hicks of Matteson, IL and Jason Hicks of Zion, IL; three step-sisters, Veda Hicks of Chicago, IL, Lois Hicks of Blue Island, IL and Cheryl Allen of Chicago, IL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
