Age 80 of Portage, passed away Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024. Tony was born in Kalamazoo on December 27, 1943, the son of Anton and Mary Ann (Whitcomb) Lorentz, Sr. He worked for the Upjohn Company and Pharmacia for over thirty years as a HVAC Technician. He also was an auctioneer and was owner of Lorentz Auction and Appraisal Services, LLC which he began in 1986. He was a CAGA Certified Appraiser. Tony was a member of the Commemorative Air Force Flying Museum and spent many years flying with the B-29 Bomber crew. He served as both Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Kalamazoo County Republican Party. He was also Chairperson of the Kalamazoo County Board of Canvassers, and a Board Member of the Kalamazoo County Construction Project Advisory Committee. In his spare time he enjoyed making glass art. Tony is survived by his lifetime companion, Anna Csernak; his daughter, Carrie (Richard J.) Eldred of Galesburg; son, Anton (Marci) Lorentz III of Chatsworth, CA; Anna’s children, Tony (Liz) Csernak and Bob Csernak; grandchildren, Nyah Lorentz Eldred, Braylin Rae Eldred, Addison Csernak, Mihaly Csernak Mariska Csernak, Stella Csernak, Adam Csernak; sisters, Dianne (Tim) Janssen, Rita Morrison; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
