With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Ardetta Fern Hart, affectionately known to family and friends as “Tootie”, on September 14, 2024, at the age of 93. Born May 5, 1931, in Sturgis, Michigan to the late Howard Clinton Hart and Sarah Etta Oswalt Hart. Aunt Tootie will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit, and warm smile that brightened the lives of those around her. She leaves behind cherished memories with her sister-in-law Cheryl Hart of Florida. Her close nieces Barbara (Barbie) Sutton of MI and Rae Hensley of TX, her nephew David (Davie) Starett of TX, many other nieces and nephews, and her friend and favorite caregiver Lena Greer. Tootie was preceded in death by her father, Howard C. Hart, her mother Sarah Etta Oswalt Hart, her brothers and sisters: Arlene Hart, Roger Hart, James Clinton Hart, George Ivan Hart, William Stanley Hart, Ardeth Louise Hamilton, David Lee Hart, Ann Rae Hart, Audrey Bell Thomas, her son John Allen Greshaw and her nephew Benjamin (Benny) Hart who she had a very close relationship with. Tootie dedicated over 30 years of her life to her career at UpJohn, and never missed a day without her red lipstick. Her commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on those around her. Although she will be dearly missed, we can take comfort that she is no longer lost, and knows she is finally home.
