Azariah Anderson Smith, age 28, of Kalamazoo, passed away on April 14, 2026. He was born in Kalamazoo on December 2, 1997, the son of Leonard A. Smith Jr. and Rachelle (Abernathy) Smith. He grew up in Kalamazoo where he made many friends and memories. Azariah had a joy for life, a wonderful smile and laughter. He stayed active; enjoyed riding motorcycles, deer hunting, working outside and spending time playing games on his computer. A social person, he enjoyed talking with friends and meeting new people. Above all Azariah loved being a father to his three children and was recently engaged to be married. He will be fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his three children, Kaitlyn McCoy, Azariah Smith Jr., Vanessa Smith; fiancé, Samantha McCoy; father, Leonard Smith; mother, Rachelle Smith; siblings, Terrence (Rhia Durr) Smith, Trenton (Rhonda) Smith, Deven Smith, Leonard Smith III, Lenesha Smith; grandfather, Randall Abernathy; great-grandmother, Janice Abernathy; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
