Age 62, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Barb was born in Lansing on February 5, 1954 to the late Albert and Olive (Runyan) Heynig. On October 17, 1987 she married William Lee Whalen, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2016. Barb is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jason) Rapson, Benjamin (Amy) Heynig and Samantha (Muhammad Hafeez) Heynig; step-son, William Whalen; seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Cynthia (Allen) Fewless, Brenda Miller, David (Shannon) Heynig, Diane (Bruce) Bishop, Susan Dunn, Alan Heynig, Douglas (Susan) Heynig, Andrew (Janet) Heynig, Charles Heynig and Frankie (Miranda Lee) Heynig; many nieces and nephews and extended family members. In accordance with Barb’s wishes cremation will take place.
