Age 76, of Portage, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2024. Barry was born in Louisville, KY, on June 24, 1948, the son of Harold E. and Fay Lurine (Nail) Rogers. Barry was a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston and the University of Houston, where he also received his MBA. On February 6, 1971, he married Nancy Marie Davidson who survives him. Over the years, Barry worked for OWT & Waste Management as a Senior Project Manager, Zapata Offshore as a Mechanical Auditor, Analysis Services as a Laboratory Manager, Houston Shell & Concrete as a Heavy Equipment Operator and finally for over 23 years at LFG Technologies, a position from which he was never really able to retire. He was a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). He had been recognized by the Independent Power Producers of New York for his leadership on their Board of Directors. In his spare time, Barry liked reading, softball, computers, technology and AI. He was an avid pilot of small airplanes, like Pipers and Cessnas. As a Christian, he had a kind and gentle heart. He was raised in the Baptist tradition however he was currently attending Kalamazoo Community Church. He loved the Lord and spoke about Jesus every day. His kindness extended into God’s creation as he loved rescuing animals in distress. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. His children and grandchildren will always remember him coming to their sporting events. Besides his wife, Barry is survived by his children Jeffrey W. Rogers and Tina Marie Rogers Brickey; grandchildren, Nathaniel D. Rogers, Michael W. Rogers, Benjamin T. Rogers, Jackson E. Brickey and Patrick Levi Brickey; one great grandchild; siblings, Diana Rogers Simpson, Wynne (Sandy) Rogers, Lynn Sharpe Benton; several cousins; and countless friends. Barry was preceded in death by his parents.
