Age 91, passed away on Saturday September 15, 2018. Bernice was born on December 29, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee.  She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Williams and Martha (Powell).  Bernice had a love of life and enjoyed many dear friendships and her relationships with her family.  She worked for many years at UpJohn Company and enjoyed a long relationship as an employee at Vermeulen’s Furniture Store in Kalamazoo.  Bernice loved music and gatherings with her friends.  She had a love for cooking, but again, was best known for being a true friend to many.  She was preceded in death by parents, her sister Lillian Thomas, a brother Wesley Williams and her niece, Linda Thomas.  Bernice leaves to cherish her memory, her many nieces and nephews: Wesley Williams, Jr. of Maryland, Randolph Williams and Ronald Williams of Georgia, Robert Williams, Reginald Williams, Michael Williams and Maya Williams of Battle Creek, Michigan, Mae Lillie Thomas and Joseph Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, dear friends, Minnie Thrash, Booker Barbie and Frances Bolen.
