A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoolcraft Cemetery, with her grandson, The Reverend David Zomer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, c/o the funeral home.

Age 93, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020. Betty was born in Kalamazoo, on April 11, 1927, the daughter of William Joseph and Nora Mae (Beard) Ulsh. On January 18, 1948, she married Lyle Decker who preceded her in death. Betty was an artist. She loved painting china and watercolors. Although she had a handicap due to having polio in her youth, she received a tennis scholarship to Kalamazoo College, after graduating from Schoolcraft High School. She loved socializing. She was part of the American Legion Auxiliary, Schoolcraft Ladies Library Association, and the American Iris and Day Lilly Society. Betty is survived by her children, Brad (Sally) Decker of Schoolcraft, Beth (David) Douglass of Kalamazoo, and Mary Sapp of Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jason Decker; and three brothers.
