Age 87, passed away on November 16, 2023. Beverly was born in Decatur, Michigan on July 26, 1936, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Poggensee) Smith. She graduated from Decatur High School. Beverly was employed for the Upjohn Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1996. She also volunteered for Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan. Beverly loved her grandchildren, her cats and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her son, Michael (Stephanie Hibner) Vrhel; grandchildren, Ethan and Alden Vrhel; nieces, Pamela, Teresa and Cherlyn and nephews, Doug and Brad. Besides her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Vrhel and sister, Sherry Hazzard. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur, Michigan on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Photos from Beverly’s life are available at www.tinyurl.com/beverlyvrhel.
