Brian Lloyd Anspaugh age 62 of Schoolcraft passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026. Brian was born in Kalamazoo on June 15, 1963, the son of Lloyd Earl and Joan May (Scobey) Anspaugh. On March 25, 1996, he married Susan Parker who survives him.
Brian was known for his big heart, kind soul and always greeting you with a smile. He also was great at telling jokes and having some of the best one-liners. Brian always looked forward to the annual deer hunting camping trips to Brohman in October. He had a deep love for his family and friends and was always willing to help others. This was revealed even with his passing as through the Gift of Life, Brian was able to donate several organs and tissue to others in need. It gives us much comfort to know that he will live on through others.
Brian enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a talented athlete in his high school days playing baseball, basketball and football. For those who knew him well, he was proud to be one of the “Gooch brothers” and one of the founding members of the “Barn Brewers”. When watching college sports, you would always know Brian would be rooting for the University of North Carolina. Some of his family’s favorite memories were annual camping trips to VanBuren State Park, winter trips to Florida, and who can forget when he and Susan attempted to ride a tandem bike around Mackinac Island. For those present, we still laugh until it hurts thinking about it.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Joshua Clysdale and Ian Anspaugh; grandson, Jackson Clysdale; siblings, Gary A. (Dondi Squires) Anspaugh, David (Dawn) Anspaugh and Bob (Lisa) Anspaugh; sister-in-law, Lori (Jason) Gaunt; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Brian was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother and father-in-law Chuck and Connie Parker.
