Age 90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Calvin was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 8, 1928, the son of the late Simon and Alice (Klaver) Miersma. On April 30, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Marguerite G. Nieboer, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2016. Calvin was also preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy (Roy) Solomon and Lois Herder; brother, Dan (Mary) Miersma; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Miersma. He is survived by his children, Thomas (Janice) Miersma, Paul (Nancy) Miersma, Timothy Miersma and Marcia (Daniel) Triemstra; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Clarence) Schippers and Ruth (Fred) Hanko; brother-in-law, Vern Herder; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Jolderma & Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Heritage Community, c/o the funeral home.
