Age 58, passed away at his home on June 15, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Rockford, IL, the son of the late Carl and Ruth (Kimball) Lester. On May 1, 1999, he married Maureen Rudzik-Lester and they would make their home in Kalamazoo, MI. Charlie was a gifted mechanic and loved working with tools. He could fix almost anything and was always willing to help with a project or task. When not working he enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved animals and his dogs were like children to him. Above all Charlie loved his family and friends and he will be missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife Maureen; siblings, Casey (Anne) Lester, Correnia Lester, Elizabeth Lester, Eleashea Maine, Chris (Rhonda) Lester; nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his loyal companions, “Holly”, “Cougar”, “Liberty” and “Bulldozer”.
