I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Charlie, but he left me with memories that will last forever. Sitting on his back porch with him, drawing pictures of the dogs, which I found out he kept several years later. Passing around boxes of chocolates that we picked up from the local confection shop. Or when he was driving a rental car, following me home in the dark, and he kept flashing the brights at me the whole way because he was trying to figure out where the windshield wiper switch was. But the one thing that has always made an impression on me was the sheer amount of love he had in his heart. You could see it every time his wife walked into the room. Even when she wasn't around, you could see him light up talking about her. It was truly inspiring and I've always seen the two of them as an inspiration to live like that in my own life. This past weekend, I went to another memorial service and they released balloons into the sky. I released an extra one for Uncle Charlie. I hope you can still feel all the love we have for you while you're in heaven. You are loved. You are missed.

I'll never forget eating popcorn watching Twilight zone movies with you all night long or the time we were running from the police in that $10 station wagon mom bought bottles flying up in the air hitting me and Chris in the head finally the cops stop chasing us back at the house those times were crazy just like you were crazy on your motorcycle but you know what you're doing I love you brother and I'll miss you.

Charlie was true to himself to the very end. Winking and blowing kisses to us; waving at the neighbors from the deck - telling them "appreciate it" when they offered to help in any way. Everyone will miss him. You're free to go outside anytime you want now Charlie. Plant another garden and show it off ! We got your back here with Maureen.

Charlie you will so be missed as a wonderful husband & friend. And a pet Dad as well. As a husband, you were amazing to my best friend. Twenty four years of marriage proves that. Always together, laughing, enjoying each other’s company. Truly, Madly, Deeply was your wedding song & was so very fitting. As a friend, you were incredible. You were the brother-in-law I never had. Always willing to help or listen as needed. But your sense of humor and ability to laugh were the very best. No more suffering, rest easy. I see you with the dogs running in nature. Until I see you again & we share a laugh. You will be missed & always remembered. 💜✝️
