Following a brief illness Carol went peacefully to the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 7, 2019, she was 92 years old. Carol was born in Kalamazoo on July 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Edward and Rena (Baas) DeVries. She remained a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and was always proud of her community. Carol had a wonderful spirt, kind and loving heart and was a joy to know. She worked hard to provide a happy home. Carol loved entertaining and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and traveling. She also worked for a time at Wycliff Bible Translators. Carol’s laughter and smile will be missed by all who knew her. Carol loved the Lord her God with all her heart, soul and mind and wished the same for all those she knew. She was united in marriage to Simon Visser who preceded her in death. Carol is survived by three children, Daniel (Sue) Visser, Steve (Lynn) Visser and Mark (Pamela) Visser. Grandchildren, Chad (Jaime) Visser, Michele (Sam) Krygier, Kelli (Jeff) Scheffers, Tracy (Mike) Ash, Holly (Dave) VanderRoest, Chelsea (David) Bouman, Graham (Meagan) Visser; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Harold) Alphenaar; many nieces and nephews.
