Age 90 passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was born in Montclair, New Jersey on December 11, 1928 to Arthur and Ula (Kraus) Ehrnstrom, Sr. As a young lady, Carolyn knew she wanted to teach. After graduating college, she began a storied teaching career in the Kalamazoo Public School system and retired after 30 years of devoted service at Burke, Springhill and Milwood Elementary Schools. Her teaching brought her great joy, knowing that she made a positive impact upon her former students. Carolyn had many passions including genealogy, traveling, golfing and skiing. She truly enjoyed music and attended the symphony on a regular basis and was a pianist, herself. Carolyn was a natural leader and belonged to several clubs and organizations, including VASA Order of America, a Swedish American Organization, Swedish Language Groups and was a long-time member of the YMCA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Arthur K. Ehrnstrom, Jr., and her beloved nephew, Robert A. Ehrnstrom. She leaves to cherish her memory her niece and nephew, Karen (Nathan) VandenBos of Kalamazoo; Mark (Rebecca) Ehrnstrom of Hudsonville, MI and great niece and nephews, Emily and Ethan Ehrnstrom, Ian, Alexander, Garrick and Bronson Ehrnstrom.
