Age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Clair was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on December 4, 1936, the son of George and Emily (Hines) Marr. On June 20, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary Francis Evans, who survives him. He proudly served his nation in the United States Army. Clair worked for 40 years as a lineman for Consumer’s Energy. He had a strong work ethic and was devoted to is job. He also had a love of nature and animals. He trained German shorthair hunting dogs. Clair enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He will be remembered by many as being kind and generous. More than anything he was devoted to his family and will be missed by his wife, Mary; children, Minda (Steve) Macias of McKinney, TX, LeAnna (Richard Stirba) of Washington, D.C., Clair A. (Kathryn) Marr II of Climax; grandchildren, Alex Macias, Randy Marr, Michael Marr and Emily Marr; brothers, Willard (Barb) Marr of Portland, OR, Charles Marr of Florida, John Marr of Florida; sisters, Val (Tom) McAvoy of Portland, OR, Cecile (Joe) Sweet of Portland, OR, and Marjorie Marr of Portland OR; several nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George Marr and a sister, Annette Forbes.
