Age 84, of Kalamazoo, passed away at his home on January 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Cliff was born in Kalamazoo on September 28, 1940, the son of the late Gerald R. and Anna F. (Stoughton) Harper. Cliff was a kind, loving and generous man. On February 14, 1959, he married the love of his life, Barbara J. (Cochran) Harper who survives. Together they made their home in Comstock and worked hard raising a family. Cliff was a gifted mason who worked for several years at Murphy Construction. When not working he enjoyed loading up the camper and heading out. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, nature and being outdoors. He was happy to be working on a car engine or tinkering on a tractor. He truly enjoyed his car rides with Barb, and he had an absolute love for music. Cliff’s motto to everyone was “A SMILE is the best thing you can put on!” Above all Cliff loved his family and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He leaves many wonderful memories to be cherished and will be missed by those who love him. He is also survived by two children, Karen (Ron) Harvath, Mark (Debby) Harper; grandchildren, Chelsie (Scott K.) Harvath, Sean (Emma) Harvath, Josh (Chardae P.) Harper, Cierra Harper, Jacob (Andrea M.) Harper, Cassidy Harper and Justin (Sandy) Harper; extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a son, Claude Harper.
