Age 91, passed away on Thursday evening, April 8, 2021, following a brief illness. Dalton was born in Arkansas on January 05, 1930, the son of Earl and Agnes (Morgan) Middlebrooks. When he was a young boy, his father, passed away unexpectedly and he and his brothers became the bread winners in the family, leaving school and began working various jobs to support their family. After he was on his own, he began his career as a mechanic/maintenance technician at the Kalamazoo Public Schools and retired after many years of dedicated service to KPS. On July 18, 1958, he married Grace Belle Curtis and they enjoyed 56 years together, prior to her death in 2014. Dalton was known for enjoying the outdoors, immensely and had a knack for fishing, hunting and gardening. He especially enjoyed going up north to spend time at the family cabin in Lake City. Dalton was also a Detroit Tigers Baseball fan and loved NASCAR. Besides, his wife, Dalton was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Middlebrooks, a beloved grandson, Michael Ringel, son-in-law, Charles Huff and a sister-in- law, Beverly Middlebrooks. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Donald E. Hose, Lois A. Hose, Jeffrey A. Hose, Susan J. Embler and Lori A. Huff, along with twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a brother, Roy Middlebrooks.
