Age 78, Dan was born May 22, 1944 to Kathleen and Edmund Cook. He was raised in the Kalamazoo area eventually graduating from Portage Northern. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from WMU. Dan met his wife Connie while working for the Postal Service. They married on March 22, 1967 and raised two children together. Dan worked for the State of Michigan as a social worker which suited some of his strengths of compassion and generosity for others. After retirement, Dan and Connie helped raise their grandchildren and when Connie fell ill, Dan took care of her. He will be missed beyond words by his son, Lee; daughter, Sara; grandkids Eric and Ali, sister-in-law Betty (John) Block and brother David (Gayle) Cook. In accordance with his wish cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.
