The Hendriksen house and the Koning house were next to each other on Lynn Street. As a youth, I was... challenging. In spite of my Eddie Haskell-esque behavior, Dan always exhibited patience and the love of Christ. It is something that has stayed with me my entire life. Well done, Dan. You were a servant of God.

Dan and I would frequently see each other in WMU's Sprau Tower or Brown Hall. We rarely had long conversations as we were going or coming from classes. I always enjoyed our encounters. Shirley, I think of you. Lyda
