David Charles Parent, a beloved father, grandfather, and lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on February 11, 1951, David lived a life marked by family, generosity, and kindness.

David is survived by his children and grandchildren: Michelle (Russell) Kostner (Mason and Emma); Michael (Tara) Parent (Aaliyah, Anissa, Sydney); Donald Parent (Kayden); and Taylar Parent (Teigan, Charlie, Maquoia). He was a devoted father, always placing his family at the center of his life and nurturing a special bond with each of his grand children. His love and guidance will continue to inspire them and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Parent Jr. and Dorothy H. Parent, his brother Michael Jay Parent, as well as his son Charles Ryan Parent. David’s profound sense of family connection was deeply influenced by his parents and brother, whose memories he held dear throughout his life.

David’s life was a testament to his enduring spirit and the values he held close: integrity, hard work, and a deep sense of loyalty. He touched the lives of many, leaving a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
