So very sorry to hear of this passing! We had lost touch with David and I was surprised and sorry to hear this news. Patty sent me the obit but no one I am close to seems to know what happened. What I remember most about David was that he always had a smile and knew how to make the best out of any situation. His work at CARES was certainly exemplary and always appreciated by those who were in the community. The world has lost a very positive soul!

I think I can say on behalf of everyone at CARES who knew and loved David that this old world has lost a LIGHT. David was the kind of person we need so badly now: unconditionally loving, non-judgmental, empathic, hard working, comical at no one's expense, and a smile as big as his heart. I worked with David at CARES but my husband Ric knew and loved him too. How could you not if one passed through CARES' doors to be greeted by his warmth and welcome. Ric and I have since moved away, but Ric ran into David about a year ago in Kalamazoo at a gas station amidst Covid. The two hugged and hugged. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. You need to know that David will be remembered with a smile and a tear. He made a difference.

David, my heart is deeply saddened upon learning of your passing! What a joy and what an amazing man, friend, brother, and all around person! I worked with David at CARES for several years, working with him was always fun but we accomplished a lot and we had such a great time. David taught me a lot about CARES and the wonderful work we were doing and taught me how to be more free, the importance of enjoying life and doing what makes me happy! You will be missed and as our dear friend PJ said we love you and the world is worse without you! Our prayers go out to you family and friends every where.
