In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and a gathering to celebrate David’s life will take place later on in the spring of 2020. Friends and family are encouraged to leave a condolence message.

Age 74, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 following a lengthy illness. David was born on February 5, 1945 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the son of Donald and Doris Swenson. He graduated from Attleboro High School and went on to work in the family business as a wallpaper hanger. In 1963, he joined the United States Army Reserves and spent eight years at the ready. In 1975, he moved to Portage, Michigan and began his career with James River Corporation, retiring after nearly 40 years of service. He met a gal from Kalamazoo, and eventually married Connie Dykehouse in April of 1978, most recently celebrating 41 years of marriage. Together, Dave and Connie enjoyed spending time together, especially fishing the Great Lakes and the oceans. Dave was also known as the “mashed potato guy” among his family. He loved to golf, metal detecting and spending his time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary Swenson, brother, Ronald Swenson, sister, Derith Gamache and his son, Robert Dykehouse. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Connie, sons, David Swenson, Jr., Anthony (Monica) Dykehouse, grandchildren Keegan Dykehouse. Kailyn Swenson, Madeline Dykehouse, Dylon Swenson and Mason Swenson, as well as his sister, Cheryl (Ed) Achison and brother in law Ronald Gamache.
