Capt. Dave was one of the finest men I ever known. We were colleagues and personal friends for over 50 years. In the recent years Dave and Sherry and I shared many good times I called our adventures. Dave was avid aviator who provided me with endless hours of Sim pilot flying. He was a larger-than-life hero to me as he shared many of his military experiences with me. Especially the citation for valor on one of his three Bronze Stars earned in Vietnam. I will miss him and the bond we formed in the last few years. Slow hand salute.

Sherry, our love and deepest sympathy to you and your family. Dave was a very special friend and a beautiful soul. We have so many wonderful memories of him growing up in St. Albans, WV. We all graduated from St. Albans High School and attended Grace Lutheran Church in St. Albans, WV where Dave was the best man at our wedding on March 11, 1967. We contacted Dave when we were planning our 50th wedding anniversary party. He and Sherry drove to St. Albans to celebrate with us on March 11, 2017. Dave gave a beautiful toast. It was his idea to provide the lyrics to "Thats What Friends Are For" so that we and all of our guests could sing this song together because -- that's what friends are for. He truly was a wonderful friend. We will never forget you, Dave, and all of the great times we had together. May you rest in peace our dear friend. Elbert and Louise Taylor
