Age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Rose Arbor with family at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo on October 12, 1950, the daughter of the late Isaac and Dolores Messer. Debbie had a strong and unique personality. She was a hard worker who was employed as a medical assistant for many years. When not working Debbie loved quilting by hand and made lovely home-made quilts which she shared with her family. She enjoyed sweets, canning, crochet and raising chickens and turkeys. Above all she loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Debbie leaves behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. On June 14, 1969, she married the love of her life Thomas Schauer who survives. She is also survived by three children, Heather (Ron) Blett, Heidi (Tim) Boles and Steven (Christina) Schauer; ten grandchildren, Grace Blett, Elisabeth (Jonatan) Andrasik, Ian, Collin, Melissa, Rebekah Boles; Isaac, Micah, Paul and Lydia Schauer; two great-grandchildren, Eszter Andrasik and Adam Williams-Saunders Jr.; three siblings, Larry (Judy) Messer, Jeff (Donna) Messer and Lisa Stutz; nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a brother, Michael Messer.
