Age 54, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2016. Dennis was born in Sister Lakes, MI, on August 3, 1962, the son of Herbert and Thelma Disterheft. He grew up in Dowagiac and was a graduate of the class of 1980 and then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Dennis had a very positive outlook on life, a strong faith in the Lord and a passion for his family. He married his high school “sweetheart” Monica (Gebhard) Disterheft on January 22, 1983. Together they formed the foundation of a wonderful family for which Dennis made many sacrifices. He was a hard worker who owned and operated Best Restaurant Repair for several years. Dennis was very handy and could fix almost anything. He found a way to make things work, both in business and life. When not working, he loved spending time with his wife and children. He leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish and the legacy of a life well lived. He is survived by his wife; three children, Alexis (Adam) Arocho, Hope (Stephen) Scholten, Andrew Disterheft; two brothers, Gary (Deb) Disterheft, Larry (Diane) Disterheft; his mother; two sisters, Judy (Jeff) Nickerson, Patty (Jeff) Hippensteele; close family friends, Ben Lambright and Dan Marschner; many nieces and nephews, and his faithful grand-dog “Buster.” He was preceded in passing by his father.
