Age 67, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Kalamazoo on January 2, 1957, a few minutes after his twin brother Danny. Growing up, he played sports, football and hockey. During the summer months he caddied at the Kalamazoo Country Club. After graduating from Portage Northern High School, he began work as the Maintenance Supervisor at Jacobson’s Department Store where he remained for thirty years. He also worked at the Brook Lodge for ten years. During his time at Jacobson’s, he met Ingrid, the love of his life! They were married for thirty-two years. Together they enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula and playing in casinos. Dennis was often quite lucky! He was very generous with his time and supportive of all his siblings through the ups and downs of life. He never asked for anything in return and was always available to help. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and loved watching Notre Dame football. He was loved by his family, and he will be missed by all! Dennis is survived by his wife Ingrid; sister, Ann (Ray) Trevino, Thomas (Denice) Simon, Michael (Nancy) Simon, Danny (Julie) Simon, nieces, Gail (Scott) Towne and Jessica (Nathan) Bell; nephews, Jesse (Eunice) Lambdin, Chris Trevino and Dan (Melissa) Simon Jr.; many extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Thomas and Helen Simon.
