A service in witness to Don’s life will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church East, 5495 E. Main St., Kalamazoo. Don will be laid to rest on Thursday morning, July 11, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta. Those wishing to attend should meet in the cortege assembly area of the cemetery at 11:15 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Humane Society, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 80, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. Don was born in Kalamazoo, on January 1, 1944, the son of Andrew Paul and Anna Lora (Cadle) Psalmonds. On July 27, 1968, he married Myra Ann Davidson who survives him. Don proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force from 1965-1968. He was a hard and honest worker and retired from Georgia Pacific after 37 years of service. He and Myra liked going on scenic drives through the country. Don was a huge fan of the Detroit sports teams, the Lions and the Tigers. When it came to sports, he also enjoyed bowling, golfing and muscle cars. He liked listening to the music of the Drifters. He was an avid reader and was a bit of a movie buff. He had an artistic side and loved comics. A soft-spoken man, he was gentle, kind and generous, always willing to help others in need. More than anything he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved doting on his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Shirley (Craig) Mussulman; grandchildren, Kelci (Theron), Caleb (Faith), Hope (Nolan), Hannah, Lydia and Luke; great grandchildren, Emma, Hudson, Ruslan, Melody and Harlow; sisters, Gay (Ray) Hallam, and Debbie Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends, including his lifelong best friend, Lynn Fisher; and special friend and sidekick, Dandy the cat. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dean Andrew Psalmonds; brother, Buel Psalmonds; sisters, Joann Betz, Joy Padgett, June Hayward.
