Age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Don was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 3, 1930, the son of the late Jacob and Dena (VanderWeele) DeWolf. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, from 1951-1953. After the service, Don was employed for the U.S. Postal Service for 48 years. Along with his wife, Jenny, he helped care for over 200 foster and special needs children. He had been a long-time member of Centerpoint and Hope Reformed churches. Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jenny (Reiter) DeWolf; step-mother, Edith DeWolf; son, Peter DeWolf; grandson, Paul DeWolf and sister, Sally Weersing. He is survived by his children, Debbera (William) Speeter, Thomas (Kristine) DeWolf, Susan (David) Doell and Carol (Steve) Walker; grandchildren, Nicholas Speeter, Joshua DeWolf, Rebekah (Chad) Holling, Daniel Doell, Karin (Stephen) Thomas, Rachel (Josh) Penny, Ashley Walker and Alex (Ashleigh) Walker; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Holling.
