Ebo will be laid to rest next to Loralee in a graveside service at Fort Custer National Cemetery 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend should meet in the cortege assembly area of the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday evening, December 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. The family wishes to thank Ebo’s caregivers at Provision Living of Oshtemo for the attention and care he received over the past 18 months. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Christian Schools, Grace Christian Reformed Church, or Centrica Care Navigators, in c/o the funeral home.

Ebo Mejeur, aged 91, our loving dad, grandpa and friend was called to his eternal home on Sunday morning, December 10, 2023. Ebo was born on September 14, 1932, in Kalamazoo, the son of Jacob and Elsie (Schipper) Mejeur. He married Loralee Osborn, on September 2, 1955, and together they nurtured a loving family. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Loralee passed away in 2015. Ebo was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church where he served in many capacities. He worked diligently to live out his faith in his daily life. He is remembered for his faithful church attendance and for being a regular reader of God’s Word. Ebo proudly served his nation in the United States Army. He worked for 35 years at the Upjohn Company, where he worked in international shipping of their pharmaceutical products and where he won the William E. Upjohn award in 1982. Following his retirement, he worked with his son Kevin at Kaylee Computer Company. Ebo enjoyed volunteering for Second Impressions, Kalamazoo Deacon’s Conference and the Comet Booster Club. He was an avid golfer and on his 70th birthday he got a hole-in-one at Thornapple Creek. Besides golfing he enjoyed his garden and working in his yard. Nothing was more important to him than his family and he loved going to the activities of his grandchildren. Ebo will be greatly missed by his children, Kenneth Mejeur of Kalamazoo, Diane (Mark) Rykse of Mattawan, Kevin (Michelle) Mejeur of Kalamazoo, and Jeffrey (Dawn) Mejeur of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Kyle (Whitney) Mejeur, Courtney Mejeur, Ryan (Jen) Rykse, Meg (Jason) White, Michael (Ginger) Rykse, Jenna (Luke) Snyder, Nathan (Jenna) Mejeur, Greg Mejeur, Theresa (Aaron) Brink, Nick (Erika) Mejeur, Danny (Meaghan) Mejeur, Abby (Zac) Kidder, Cody Mejeur and Casey (Chris) Blok; and 33 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mejeur and Alene Mejeur; sister in law, Beuna Mae Kraak; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Besides his wife, Ebo was preceded in death by siblings, Uko “Dutch” (Jo) Mejeur, Wubbo “Chub” Mejeur, Rena (Al) Rhem, Jerry (Betty) Mejeur, Trena (Matthew) Onderlinde, Henry (Francis) Mejeur, John Mejeur, Margaret (John) VanderPloeg; sister in law, Loretta Leighton; and brother in law, Frank Kraak.
