Age 55, passed away at home on Monday, November 14, 2016. Ed was born in Vicksburg on May 17, 1961, the son of the late Edward H., Sr. and Betty Jane (Rainey) Smith. He was an ironworker for many years and was very proud of his trade. Ed was mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing just about anything. He was extremely adventurous and enjoyed traveling with his wife. On August 29, 1985 he was united in marriage to the former Kay L. Gettys who survives. Ed is also survived by his children, Daniel (Amanda) and Lacey Smith; grandchildren, Landon and Violet Smith and Lydia Martinez; brothers, Ronald and Bill (Pam) Smith; sister, Nancy (Ron) McDole; step-brother, Jack Gantt; father and mother in-law, Jack and Dorothy Gettys and brother and sister in-law, Gene and Ann Gettys. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by a brother, Daniel and a sister, Sandy.
