Age 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Elaine was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on February 8, 1942, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marguerite (Anderson) Bennett. She graduated from Richland High School and was employed at Borgess Hospital for more than 34 years. Elaine loved to garden, sew and read books. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles every day with her morning coffee, while listening to country music. On November 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Pratt, who preceded her in death on November 21, 2022. Elaine was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jose Aguilera. She is survived by her four children, Rachel Aguilera, Dawn Sims, Tom Pratt and Joanne (Rob) Donovan; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Leon (Connie) Bennett, Milton (Lynn) Bennett, Karen (Larry) Darner and Gloria Brabon; sister in-law, Juanita Lockwood and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Private interment will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
