A funeral service will take place at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Parchment Schools Foundation or Alamo Nursing Home.

Age 92, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023. Eleanor was born in Gobles, Michigan on June 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Stanley and Leona (Clark) Ruse. She was a graduate of Plainwell High School, class of 1948. Eleanor was employed as a payroll secretary at Parchment School District, retiring after 26 years. She was actively involved in her children, grandchildren and great-children’s lives and attended many sporting events and school activities. She loved to knit, crochet and quilt and even handmade a quilt for each of grandchildren as a wedding gift. She was also an avid reader. On September 5, 1953, Eleanor married Richard L. DeVito, who preceded her in death on February 20, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Kay DeVito and special cousin, Betty Blum. Eleanor is survived by her son, Dennis DeVito; daughter, Tina (Steve) Terry; grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Groulx, Charlie (Sarah) Terry, Travis (Jill) Terry, Nick (Sandy) DeVito and Elizabeth (Jake) Bronson; nine great-grandchildren and sister in-law, Jean Believe.
